I have no wit, I have no words, no tears;

Last weekend I went for an lil trip down to Brighton, to see everyone and also to celebrate Harry and Amber’s birthday. It was such a lovely trip, my goodness! I went on roller coasters and bumper cars, paddled in freezing water, made tie dye tshirts (my gift to Harry and Amber was a make-your-own-tie-dye kit), watched movies and documentaries about phone sex, had amazing food and just had such a wonderful time!

Now I’m back for one more week in Leeds, to do some 3rd year recitals, see my friend Helen’s art show (event page here for those in Leeds) and play a final show with Zee and the Essentials (for this academic year) and then I’m home for a week and THEN I’m going to America!

Saturday was Live at Leeds! It was so much fun, above is a picture taken by Helen of my solo set. Pictures were taken of my second set with Zee and the Essentials but I’ve not got access to them as of yet.
Both sets were really good fun, especially the second one (singing about suicide and being broken hearted isn’t as fun unfortunately) with Zee and the Essentials, such a wonderful positive vibe from the audience, they were all singing alone to all the songs, even our originals and it just felt really wonderful to be a part of something like that.
My mum and her boyfriend, Graham, came down as well, which meant a lot, especially because they didn’t get to leave until midnight and then had to drive all the way home! I just had a really lovely night, so many great things happened and yeah.
Now I have one day to write an essay on talent shows and their impact on the music industry (easy, but time consuming) and some bullshit ‘survival guide’ for the music industry (far too time consuming for it’s worth), then I have three weeks of recitals and gigs, one week of being home and I am off to America and Summer begins.

Yay an actual non-horrific picture of me at a club! Probably because I didn’t really drink too much, I prefer staying relatively sober these days. Also these are my flatmates next year (plus one other girl who wasn’t here) and I’m excited to have a proper house and have dinner parties and stuff!!

Things I learnt this week:

  • It is possible to have fun sober in Smack (as long as you ignore the smell and stop caring about what people might think about your dancing)
  • I just need to care/worry less in general
  • My face is a wild animal that cannot be controlled when posing for pictures
  • Pubs are ok as long as the company is good
  • I can make Jon call me ‘jazzy’ if I threaten to crash the car
  • Jon is addicted to Greg’s (made me stop in Warwick to get two chicken pasties)
